Bringing a vehicle in your name from another state into Alabama

Title if you have the title - Click here to title a vehicle purchased from a dealership

Copy of title if a lien is attached ( if electronic title must be assigned )

All Individuals shown as owners on the Title ( only one, if names are joined by "OR" )

Proof of Alabama Insurance ( NAIC number and policy number in-force on registration day ). 

Please have your proof of insurance when entering the License Department at Probate Court.

All individuals on title and their valid ID for each name on Title

Current tag receipt if transferring from one vehicle to the new one ( name must be same on old and new vehicle, 

must no longer own old vehicle 

Vehicle must be brought to License Office for inspection if not an Alabama Title.
